Something I found that works for me from lots of practice, with a ton of trial and error. The following is what I use and/or do to make ALL my embroidery using metallics and or stitching out FSL. Slow my machine down to the slowest speed (for my machines its 350spm). Use a TOPSTITCH (or LARGE eye SHARP needle) Use the thread nets (like photos above

How many embroidery designs do you have? Do you embroidery other items OTHER than on quilts? As for me I have OVER 150,000 designs and LOVE making FSL designs and recently gotten hooked on making earrings. I also make quilt labels, and other embroidery for wall hangings and other types of sewing projects.

In my personal opinion I would NOT try hooping the quilt. Instead I would recommend stitching it on a piece of fabric and hand stitching it to the back of the quilt. That is how I would do mine when I forget to do the embroidery before the quilting (which is often).

Is there a way to send a GIFT premium membership to a friend? I have been trying to find the answer on my own, but obviously I am not looking in the right place to find it. Thanks in advance for your help. Louise

I am so glad to have one of my favorite friends from another board here too! Trying to recruit another friend or two from our EMAIL RAK group, time will tell if they join us here or not. Hugs Teresa, we ARE going to have fun here, of course with the two of us here are we really SURE they can handle our crazy wit? (of course I am really joking). HUGS

What I would like to know has any every made one using brocades, oriental silks, velvets etc fabric? Would a foundation fabric be needed when using these kinds of fabrics? Are they machine washable? or would it be best to dry clean only? What would be a good size to make? Any other valuable information would be great. I have been collecting fabrics

This is my FIRST quilt ever made in October 2006. IF I ever have a grand baby this quilt will go to that child. Until than it will continue to hang on the wall above my desk.
