  • Re: Die Cutting Machine

I have an Accuquilt GO which I have used rarely. I want to use it more because I love it, but I sew a lot from kits and I am afraid that I won't have enough fabric if I use the GO. It does waste some fabric. I have just cut samples and it is such fun. The one thing I did cut was 2 1/2 inch strips and it is FAST--and accurate--no unexpected curves

Don't feel bad--ours just got done today. I don't want to give away my money before I have to either. The government just wastes it and I really need it so I keep it as long as I possibly can.

  • Re: has anyone tried the Shout Color Catchers?

I always prewash--learned from sad experience. I also like the new look when the quilt is finished and after it is laundered. The color catchers are wonderful and I rewash until the colors are no longer in the catchers. The vivid colors are the most likely to run--pastels only need one washing. Good Luck, AnnEliz

  • Re: Do any folks here sell the quilts they make?

Hi Jenia--We hand quilt at my church--we do not make quilts. However, we charge 65 cents a yard of thread used in the hand quilting. Sometimes we add a little if the patterns are more complex and more quilting is needed. I have been told to double the cost of supplies used to reach a labor price. Also if the fabric is difficult to work with and we happen

  • Re: Hand quilting my Grandmother's Flower Garden... Help!!`

Hi Michelle--We do that one day each week at my church---what fun. We take a coffee (snack) break at ten o'clock and then eat lunch at 12 noon. Then we leave at three o'clock. What goes on between those times is anyone's guess, but we all love it--there are only about 8 of us left out of a dozen, but we would love to have more. All proceeds

Hi All--I have belonged quite awhile now, and I must confess that I do not access the site enough. There just aren't enough hours in my day. However, for awhile I did not receive anything and almost forgot about being a member. Then I e-mailed them and now I get everything and even when I renew. I NEVER received any "box" though--in fact

Hi Debbie--I am a hand quilter. I sit with the frame in my lap--the stand bothered me. Then I can move the frame as I wish and from time to time, straighten things out. Are you having a problem keeping your stitching lines straight? I either lightly mark mine or I use the 1/4 inch masking tape made especially for this purpose. Keep practicing, you'll

  • Re: fabric right side?

All of these answers are so true, however, I can usually tell if I lay the fabric on top of my leg because I wear jeans most of the time. So far, it has been very obvious which is the right side. Good luck.
