    Sounds like a plan!!! I will post a picture of it tomorrow, as it just started pouring down rain here and the book is in my truck. Hopefully someone will be able to help!!!

    Nana... I've looked at the Star of Bethlehem pattern, and it doesn't look the same. Do you think you could identify the pattern if I posted a picture of it? Maybe the author has it titled incorrectly...

    I have what might possibly be a dumb question, but I just read The Quilters Holiday by Jennifer Chiaverinni, and inside the cover was a picture of a quilt block that I fell in love with. It was titled Star of the Magi. Has anyone ever heard of this pattern, or know where I could find the pattern???

    I am thinking either emerald green or a dark inky blue (maybe midnight blue), but I don't have access to alot of fabric stores around here. Do any of you have any favorite brands, or possibly any specific fabrics that I can look up? I know what I'm looking for, I just don't know how to describe it. Maybe a marble type look with different

    Thanks for all of y'all information!!! I am loving the website so far. I will look for that 1/4 inch measuring stick you were talking about gini. This is the pattern that I want to do completely by hand. http://www.rjrfabrics.com/patterns/download_pattern.cfm?psID=86 Can anyone offer any color tips? I was thinking dark blue or green and white.

    I was at Joanns yesterday, and I found the niftiest stuff!!! It is called Quilter's tape. It is exactly 1/4 inch wide, and you place it one one piece of your fabrics, and sew along the bottom edge of it. It is made by the Dritz company.

  • New to Quilting

    Hi everyone, I am new to quilting (well, I grew up under my grandmother's quilting frame), and am looking for ANY tips I can find. I am working on my first quilt. A simple 9 patch, with the center patch also a 9 patch. I am making it in brown calico and ecru fabrics. My grandmother has been kind of helpful, but she usually just buys pre-printed
