• Re: Im new

welcome bluetulip65 quilting is a salvation for many of us. When I broke my shoulder this was my salvation on keeping me sane. My quilting buddy would come over and cut strips of fabric so I could sew with my left hand I could only sew for 10 minutes at a time but it saved my sanity. I'd be lost if I couldn't quilt. What are you making now?

  • Off topic - quilting cards

I was at our local Quilt Museum on Wed. with friends and found the cutest quilting card someone made up to sell as a fund raiser for the museum. On front of card was a piece of a measuring tape Poem was by Anonymous "Give a quilter an inch and she thinks she's a ruler" I just thought this was cute and of course had to buy one. I'm

  • Re: kyoto batting

Bamboo batting is great to work with. Needles great by either hand or machine and washes well. Very soft features. I've also used "Dream Green" batting and WOW factor with that batting. I like it as it's an environmental batting, (recycled plastic bottles/poly blend) This is amazingly soft and again needles well by hand or machine

  • Re: Storing Your Stash

Sharon I know this is late for your forum but I haven't had much time for computer lately. I go to fabric stores, ask for their throw away cardboard things that they throw out after fabric is exhausted on that bolt. It helps them with recycling and helps me more as I can keep my fabrics on bolt so I know what fabrics I have and can see fabric easily

  • Singing Quilter

We had so much fun listening/tapping our toes listening to Singing Quilter Cathy Miller and John Bunge at our Jan. meeting. Her songs are all about quilting. She's an accomplished teacher, quilter, singer, song writer. She made a huge sampler quilt and then wrote a song about a "Sampler Quilts" and didn't miss anything when it comes

No time as we're tied up every day with things to do. Teaching my nieces how to quilt. Yeah right, they couldn't find eye of needle never mind know what to do with needle! Don't have a computer nor internet services at their home. I can't imagine it but, it'll be interesting for me but, like I said withdrawals! Guess now I'll

Judy Thanks for letting all of us know Spuds okay. She's always fun to read in here. She'll be missed but maybe when holiday season is over she'll be back. I 'm going through withdrawals already thinking about not being here for about 2 1/2 weeks soon. Can't imagine having my morning coffee & not being able to read what everyone

  • Re: what to do with used sewing needles

Nana This I can relate to also I'm guilty of keeping all the paper towel tubes and tubes from toilet paper rolls as, I use them to wrap all my cut strips for strip quilting on. Saves having to iron them all when I want to do a project. Don't bother explaining hanging them up on clothes hanger. Bin der don dat had to pick them up from floor as
