Zoetc, it is your fabric and your time. I think it is your right to make a quilt for whom ever you wish. If you think this guy is worthy of your time and fabric, go right ahead. I think friends are quilt worthy. I have made items for people, just because I wanted to, and they really loved it. I see nothing wrong in wanting to do something nice for someone

I ususally by 2 - 3 yards, but if I reallylove it, I will double it, because then I have enough for another project or two. I don't go to sales looking for specific fabric, for me it is more stash building. If something speaks to me, I will give it a home. LOL

I hope your son and DIL will make it home safely. I don't mind snow very much. I guess it is just a matter of being used to it. I just leave the house a little earlier, and drive slowly to work. We have snow in the forecast for Christmas, that would certainly be wonderful. What I have a problem with are the ice rains we get in January and February

I would like to just post about my progress, without being in a competition. I just started a new job, which will give me more quilting time than my previous job did, but not enough to be able to compete with people. But I do like to come for motivation, and for incentive to stay focused. I just like to quilt with other people. I have not made a UFO

I am getting dizzy just thinking about all of my UFO's. I must be a starter, but sadly, not a finisher. I am dedicated to finish my Patriotic quilt. I started it in Spring of 2010, then I had it in the church for the ladies to help me quilt it. But we could not finish because they really needed the frame for a wedding quilt. So I have the last border

Frances, You absolutely count. I like english paper piecing. I started a grandmother's flower garden a few years ago, but never finished because of lack of time. My MIL showed me the one she is working on over the weekend, and got me interessted in mine again. This is such a good way of piecing, I can take it with me to school and work and get some

Your quilt is very beautiful. I can't think of any other way than echo quilting, in order to avoid the seams. Or you can quilt in the ditch, that will really make those stars pop out. In any case, enjoy working on it.

Where are the pictures?

That is incredible!!! Congratulations!!!! I started to piece the SBS, but keep getting sidetracked because the pieces are just so small, and it seems a very daunting task.

Nina, I am having a quilt that was quilted at a bee. I love it, because it has the love, care, happy thoughts, and stitches of my friends in it. An everytime I see it, I am thinking of them.
