    we have been here off and on. When the temps went over 100 over a couple weeks ago, we finally had to leave. Too smoky to open windows and no air conditioning. When we got power back last Friday we moved back. Been hauling water, but hope to get that today. Our underground cistern that burned up, is being replaced. Our well only produces about 1 1/2

    Got some catching up on messages to do. Hope to do so this morning. While we have had a couple cancellations, we did over book, so am doing some reshuffling with rooms. Will let everyone know if there are openings later.

  • surviving the firestorm

    here is what's been happening in my life. July 17. Our home survived, over half in our community lost everything. 36 homes burned. We went without electricity for just over 3 weeks. Hoping we get water back today. Sorry I have not been checking in. The Oregon coast retreat is still happening. I will be posting about that soon.

    I have EQ5, which calculates the amount of fabric needed. But I found that sometimes inaccurate, and for borders they calculate it the full length with no cuts. EQ7 may be better. Also, there are so many different methods to making some blocks, some using less fabric. Half square triangles can be done so many different ways. What I have done is work

    Mamagshouse, you would be surprised to find out how inexpensive some of these retreats are. depending on room and if sharing that room, it can be less than $130 for 5 nights. A lot of sponsored retreats are very expensive, but when just a group of friends get together, it can be inexpensive. Unfortunately, this one is full, but we do have a waiting
