    Working on A quilt that ended up being 3! I had left over flying geese blocks from a donation quilt for Quilts of Valor. So made a few more blocks and finished the baby quilt for Quilts for Kids. Realized I had a few extra blocks so decided to sew them up and use them on the back. OMG...had enought blocks to made a SECOND donation quilt for QfKs! I

    Thanks for the help. I appreciate this and will look for the book. Right now sewing quilts for charity...Quilts for Kids and working on DWR for us. NEXT big project w/b the bargello. So can I assume you HAVE used this book to help yo select fabrics? Again, thanks for the link!

    Nancy, I thouht about doing that but I work full time and dh and I are caregivers for Mom who has advanced ALZ. I sew for my sanity so it's much easy just ot sew and send back!

  • My newest charity to sew for...Quilts for Kids

    Decided a couple weeks ago to read about the Quilts for Kids and yes they still need quilts. So I orderd a kit with the understanding I would make at least one quilt to send back with my finished one. Pattern and fabric was for the rail fence. I just have to provide batting and binding. So easy! Finished the piecing in two nights! Its been a long time

  • Threading that darn sewing machine needle...

    Had eye surgery and not having a difficult time threading a needle. Grabbed my bees wax and AFTER threading the machine I run the end of the thread across the wax. Stiffens up the thread and slides right thru that hole much easier. Julie in NM

  • UFO for QOV for female soldiers

    As I find and finish UFOs, my friend quilts and sends them on to her local chapter of Quilts of Valor. She's doing the long arm quiltsing for me. This was sitting in my stash for a long time..now on it's way to bring sunshine to someone.

    Never thought of using Jelly Rolls! See...learned something the first day here! Now i just need to focus on small project and away I and everyone else goes!

    I love almost every Bargello quilt I see. Want to make one but have no idea how to choose colors. I think the best way is to start with fav color and go from there? Have several books and just need to jump into the pool and start w/a table runner. Too bad I have to go to work or I'd have fab for this new project! Looking foward to chatting with

    Was a member before but dropped it. What was I thinking? So back now and looking forward to making new quilting buddies. Don't belong to any quilt guilds even tho there are some in my area. Work full time and take care of my mom who is 90! Dh works from home and helps w/her care too. Looking forward to groping my way around this forum. Looking for
