Everyone uses different techniques for making a quilt. When I recently saw APQS Director of Education Dawn Cavanaugh burying threads, I asked "so how do you do it?" I captured her response on video. Click here to watch it. Check out those little pebbles. Love them! The embroidery detail is nice, too.
My trip to the Minnesota Quilter's annual quilt show might have been fast...but it was fun. I worked in the booth with Karen McTavish. Her quilting is beautiful. She has a great sense of humor! Here she is with a McTavish cookie a bought for her. And, she LOVES her brand-new APQS Millennium with Quilt Glide. I got to catch her excitement on video
If you received this photo in your mailbox, you might think Mark Caraher and Tony O'Tool are on vacation. (This would make a lovely Christmas card, don't you think? Maybe we can somehow crop their families into the picture.) But Mark and Tony are far from being on vacation. They are doing the ultimate APQS Road Show tour in the South and West
If you haven't heard, Mark Caraher and Tony O'Tool from the APQS home office in Iowa have hit the road on a Road Show trip like never before. Last time I checked Iowa did not look like this. They were spotted at Nala's Quilt Shop in Fountain, Colorado. There was even discuss on the forum about what happened at Nala's. I've heard
June 04, 2009 I'm a firm believer that we must cultivate the next generation of quilters and creators. Neighborhood kids have glued buttons to boxes, sewn Halloween quilts, and worked on 4-H projects with me. When I see kids being creative I applaud them (and the adult taking the time to help!). So cheers to Cooper Ketcham (and Dawn Cavanaugh )
