I need to know how long to make the basting stitches when making Yo Yo's. I know the longer you make them the smaller the hole. I have one fabric that is very soft & makes real nice Yo Yo's but I have another 100% cotton that is a little thicker & I can't get the hole small enough as I am adding jingle bells on top of the Yo Yo's

Angel, are these needles better than the Jeana Kimball's Straw Needles which is what I have been using to applique my grandmother's kanerchiefs on my jacket. They are wonderful & bend beautifully.

Angel, I would be interested in some applique books. I love to do this work which I use the needle turn. I think it is prettier than the blanket stitch. Will you tell us a little about each book? Linda

Helen, I would love to have some watermelon squares or scraps as I collect watermelons. I have only been quilting for a few years & I have completed one quilt that I entered in a quilt show & got good reviews from the judges. I am working on a hankie jacket made from my grandmother's hankies as she died when she was 106 a few years ago.
