    Beautiful quilt. I don't really have a suggestion but I have some thoughts to share. Are there photos of Eleanor's finished quilt in the pattern? You can use that as a reference or google log cabin quilts to see what others have done. I've seen lots of log cabins quilted with straight lines 1/4 inch away from the seams. Some quilters say

    For Half Square Triangles you will cut squares that are 7/8 inches bigger than the finished size ( the finished size is the size after it's sewn into a block; when you cut they are unfinished. ) If your block is to finish at 3 3/4 inches then you will cut squares 4 5/8 inches then cut them in half on the diagonal.     Thanks Pat A. Yes it's fun. The hard part for me was getting to all the shops. I was lucky to have DH drive the first weekend. The driving takes a lot out of me.

    Well I did it. I won the prize. I was the first to turn my quilt in at Seacoast Sewing & Quilting in Biddeford, Maine. I was VERY happy when the lovely Lori told me I was a winner. I haven't explored my FQs yet but will soon. Here's a photo of my quilt and close up of the label: I copied the logo from the RxR website into MS Word then typed
