Hi Everyone, I did work on a few things today, but this quilt was done about two weeks ago. I am making a quilt to raise funds for my alma mater, the University of Iowa, and specifically, the Women's Gymnastics Team. What I thought you might like is that I quilted the team member's names into the quilt. It's a great way to incorporate a

I can't say that I do much traditional applique, and I really 99% sew by machine, but it makes me happy, so hey, why not? I did include one more item with silk on my new blog. It is much more of an art piece and it's from the cutest little book :) http://quiltersteff.wordpress.com

Thanks, it is actually black, but oddly enough the picture that I took in the natural light made the background look black. It is a hand-dyed fabric, so there is a little color variation, but you're not the first to mention that. I'll maybe take a few more and repost. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the welcome, and no, probably not, I haven't been active on the discussion boards. I recently had a job change that has given me a lot more time to enjoy quilting :)

Thanks! The stems are also silk dupioni and they were cut out, fused down and then quilted on. Steff
