What a nice surprise, Barbara it is great to see you back! Hopefully your doctor will decide that quilting is good therapy.

Thanks Kris, you were a good cheerleader. I will be continuing my work on UFOs with or without a group. It is more fun with a group so hopefully there will be more interest. I started Farmer's Wife and got bogged down so that one is good for 2 groups, LOL.

This year I concentrated on UFOs. I think I finished 8 quilts and still have more to go. Unfortunately the UFO group doesn't interest many so I gave up on that and quit posting. I have EQ7 and would love to see the EQ group get going again, but seems there is a lack of interest there too. I have not had much luck with any of the swaps I did so I

I am still here but don't post much. It is not the happy place it once was for me. There is not much interest in the groups I was interested in and I see no point in being the only one posting. I tried other sites and didn't really fit in them. I read some of the posts but don't spend much time here which is good and bad. I spend more time

Welcome Angelina. I used to live in Miami but didn't quilt back then. Sorry I can't help, but Google is always on call.

  • Re: Hi from South Florida

Welcome. I grew up in south Florida and moved "up north" to Sarasota, lol. Most of the quilts I make are with thinner batting because it is not as cold here as other places. I made a king size for my queen bed to use as a bed spread. IMHO it does get cold enough here to use quilts. It is a great, creative hobby, even if you are not "snowed

Adele, you are right, this is a Happy Quilt! Kudos to you for finishing, not sure I could have done it. It will brighten up any room it enters. Enjoy it!

  • Re: Post and discuss your 2014 UFOs here.

I have had both cataracts removed now and am living in a different world! LOL, everything is brighter and clearer. I am ready to get back to sewing. I never got my top sandwiched because I am missing a 6' table. I decided to try the plank method of sandwiching and needed two 6' tables. I looked everywhere and even had my son look just in case
I am a new quilter and just got my first quilting job
Does that mean that you are new to quilting for money or are you new to the whole process of quilting? If new to the entire process you really need to make some practice sandwiches and practice whatever design you are going to use on this quilt. The suggestion

  • Re: looking for a cardinal fussy cut quilt pattern I seemed to have lost :( HELP!

Glad I could help. That is one of my UFOs, lol. I started quilting it and messed it up because my vision was so bad so I put it away. I just had cataracts removed last week and can now see! So, I am frogging, hope to finish it this year.
