  • Quilting the quilt - free motion quilting

This time, because I wanted to finish in a hurry, I didn't use embroidery redework type quilt blocks as I usually do, to quilt my quilts. Instead, put 9 1/2" designs on tracing paper, pin them to my quilt and was off! I found, just as they tell you, the more you do it, the better you get. Here I finally am on my REAL blog page doing my REAL intended thing. As my father once told me, when all else fails, read the directions! Anyway, last night when I went to sew the strips of my Army quilt top together, I found I had made a mistake and have to remake one of the strips. Here are the pictures I said I'd send. They are a little large but I have an old camera! The first picture is Xmas strip piecing. I just got some great military fabric and will post pictures sometime today, I hope. I guess I started all this at a bad time as I just had carpal tunnel surgery - for the SECOND time! But I needed something to distract me so here I am. Thank God for the internet - and my husband, who is a computer guru and can help me. Later this week I will post a
