Thank you all for the engouragement! I also loved the fabric combinations and believe me - there are plenty of mistakes but the pictures were taken with a phone. I think it is "Hooked on Feathers" but I saw the technique demonstrated on one of the QNN videos and they didn't call it that - I think they called it "Cat's Claw"

Going to try and post a couple pictures of a quilt I made for a bridal shower gift for the daughter of a high school firend (can't believe she's old enough to be getting married!) I am hoping not everyone, particullasrly the bride, can't see the mistakes!

Eileen is right - the only shop I know if in the city proper is Quiltology. There are shops in the suburbs but the only one I know of that is near a train station (NW Metra line) is all the way in Barrington called A Touch of Amish. It's a great store, just not close to the city. I have also been to the others Eileen mentioned - all are good though
