Your bobbin thread was probably not matched to your top thread. I was told never to use rayon embroidery thread for quilting. Superior (King Tut, even Bottom Line) Are really great for quilting. YLI makes beautiful variegated thread and I use it for the bottom also. I use a size 14 needle to quilt even on my sit down longarm. Linny

My quilts name themselves. The name just usually pops into my head around the time I'm quilting it! They're usually right about what they want to be called! What's crazier is that my newer sit down longarm just told me what to call her... Linny

How to get him to let you have a longarm? My hubby has his own hobby-car restoration. He takes up a lot more space than me! I don't say a word about what he does and therefore he has learned to pretty much go along with whatever I want to do-except take over the unused living room. I've made quite a few of these but these are the BEST directions I've seen! The pictures are great and I think that makes all the difference. Linda

Having tried both ways, I always machine sew the binding on then hand stitch the back. It just looks so much nicer
