  • How would I go aboout actually quilting a large applique quilt?

Hello All... This a pic of the pattern cover for a quilt that I am almost finished making. I actually like mine better because I used Maywood woolies flannel to make the applique pieces and an off-white flannel for the background. Anyway -- now that I'm in the home stretch of completion, I have been trying to figure out just how to approach quilting

Hey Jap, I have a Janome 6500 and I had this problem as well. I changed to topstitch needles and slowed down just a bit and all went smoothly after that. I use a LOT of Superior Threads and really like the King Tut. Good luck!

Hello Everybody!!! I've been kinda quiet lately because I've been so busy. Over the last two months I've moved, started a new job and got a brand new granddaughter. I haven't had much time to even think about getting online and I haven't even done much sewing. My DH says the strain is showing. He helped me get my sewing room situated

Jeanine -- I have never gotten to take a class on feathers... I'm jealous. I am however a huge Hooked on Feathers fanatic! It's the best book I ever purchased. I started out just doodling in my paint program. I have a laptop with a touchscreen and pen so it was so much fun practicing. Now I make pretty darn good hooked feathers and I've

Hi Barb... Welcome! You have come to right place to ask questions. The quilters here are full of useful information, advice and just plain fun. I see from the previous responses that you've been advised to use the buttonhole stitch. Just wanted to pipe in and let you know that I often use a zig zag stitch as well. I have done a few art pieces and

Hey Pat... Just checked out the website. There is a video link there where Gayle Ropp does a quick demo of the quilting spoon. This gives you a good idea of how the tool works but the video covers everything in very good detail. I think the video is a little over an hour long and it helped me immensely. Like I said... it will never win any video production

Pat -- it's been awhile since I've checked out the website so I'm not sure what's online. I'll check it out and get back to you. I bought my spoon and video before all this streaming video was so accessible.
