Hi Charlotte I'm still kinda new at this too I think you would have a beautiful 9 or even 12 patch quilt with all those 3" squares. You can always use them as filler blocks on another quilt. We lost my mama in Feb and in some of the quilt blocks she had there weren't enough blocks to make a quilt for me and my sister so we divided the blocks
