  • Re: New from Glen Burnie MD

Welcome, Susan! I echo everyone else's comments. I started the same way you did. My mother in law was a quilter and after she passed, I found that she had passed on to me and my hubby several quilt tops that she had pieced. She knew that I loved to sew and she found a way to get me into quilting. She knew that I would finish the tops. I didn't

  • Re: Sewing Machine/Serger Mats

Thank you so much, Teresa. I have a Brother Quattro and it bounces like crazy too. I just bought a couple of those mats for my kitchen. I bought them at Walmart for $9.99. I'll have to go get another one. Thanks again!

  • Re: Big Storm out East,

Outside Philly we only had about 4 or 5 inches of snow. Wish we had 3 or 4 feet of snow. I LOVE snow. My DS has a snowplow business and is a snowboarder and the snow has been sparse here the last few years. Well, it's still February so there's always the chance we can get more snow. I remember January 1996 we still lived in Philly and we had

  • Re: What machine are you working with???

I have a Quattro 6000 that my hubby bought me a couple of years ago for Mother's Day. I absolutely love that machine. It has an upgrade available but I haven't gotten it yet. I'm still learning everything the machine can do without the upgrade. It is awesome for piecing and quilting and I use the embroidery unit to make my quilt labels.

  • Re: Hi, my name is Victoria and I am an addict.

Victoria, I couldn't have explained me any better than you did you! I think what has helped me the most is watching the Love of Quilting Shows. I finished a quilt I was making for my DGS and I was up to the binding part...I've NEVER had a binding finish without being a disappointing mess where you join the two sections together. Well, I was

  • Re: Shower curtain

I made one a few years ago. I lined the back of it with cotton. It didn't need a liner because it hangs over the front of the shower doors (not my favorite thing to look at but a necessary evil.) I did make a header and made buttonholes in the header to put the shower hooks in. In our master bath, I couldn't find a shower curtain I liked and

  • Re: We need to see results

Hi, Kristi! I just wanted to let you know that I'm in PA and the website seems find to me. I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit, on a Verizon Fios 35 mps connection. Just wondering if that's the problem and to let you know you're doing great!

  • UFO Update...

After taking the Thomas the Train project out of the drawer, I realized that I had pieced the blocks but never quilted them as I went along. So my wish came true..."I wish I had just pieced the top and then quilted it”. So, I'm on a roll now. I already have the blocks sewn together and I'm getting ready to add the borders. I hope

  • I think I know what I'll do next...

I have one UFO, a quilt that I started two years ago for my grandson. I'm one of those people who likes to take something from the start to the finish and that UFO is just sitting there bugging me. It doesn't matter where I hide it, it always manages to pop up and bug me. It's one of those "Quilt as you go" quilts. It seemed like
