Well, i have been hording 4th of July fabric forever and decided to use it this year. I made several mini-quilts that you can see in my gallery. I decided to make this one pretty simple. I have a lot of loud fabric and I thought that this would be a way to set them off of something pretty drastic and contrasting. After a lot of thought I only quilted

  • 4th of July pillows

I had some blocks left over from my quilt and so I appliqued them onto some white fabric and added a border. It was a great way to use up the rest of the blocks and have some fun small decorations. I made them into shams so I can use the pillow forms for various pillows through the year.

  • Summer Picnic

Well, 467 pieces later here is my latest top. I used some 1930's replica fabric left over from another project. I really like how it turned out. I do have to put in a word about the pattern though. I really was a little frustrated with the pattern. It called for too much fabric, some pieces that had to be trimed to size were over one inch too big

  • Re: What other hobbies do you have besides quilting?

I love to read so I have been getting books on CD while I have been sewing lately so that I can pass the time doing two of my favorite things. other then that, when I am not working at my three different jobs I simply can't get enough of my one year old daughter. And when we happen to be home at the same time and not working opposite schedules so

  • Argyle with Style

I bought the pattern for this quilt 2 years ago and just made the top this week. I have not decided how I want to quilt it, so I am posting the finished top now. I made it using the pattern called Argyle with style by bate and taylor. I was a little miffed that their necessary yardage was a little high (I mean seriously 1 yard to much ric-rac and almost

  • Cabin Quilt

This is the first sewing project that got me into quilting. My cousin made a quilt like this for her bed when we were in high-school and I loved it. I decided that I needed to make myself one, but then took 4 years to start. I was in college and one day I saw one of my roommates with her sewing machine sewing. I had put it in my mind that I could not

  • Serendipitious Snowman

I made this winter wall hanging for my best friend. I started it last sept and finished it in may. After just cutting out the pieces I just couldn't keep working on it. I got totally burned out. And then, it was supposed to be for my best friends birthday in Feb. Whoops. At least she didn't need it until this next winter. I made it from a pattern

  • Christmas Calmness

I made this quilt for my mother two Christmas's ago. As I have been taking pictures to post on my blog I realized that I never took a picture of this quilt. So while I was posting it on my blog I came over to post it here. I love the fabric that I used for the border. I had to go to 8 stores I think that year to find enough for the border because

  • Re: What is the hardest part about quilting?

I think that various parts of the project are hard. When I find fabric that I want to use for a project, sometimes I have a hard time coming up with a pattern, but it is just as hard the other way around. But I think that the hardest part of me is deciding how I want to quilt it. What design to use, what looks good, should I do it myself or send it
