Jan - I hope you do buy the CD for this one as I am loving these little blocks. These are my first 15 blocks - they aren't in the order that I did them but I just love them - i love the fabric line that I am using for them. I hope those that make this block stop and read this tutorial before they begin... I had 2 problems with this block that I want to address... One you are working on the BIAS for the triangle blocks - I made a template out of cardboard to cut my triangle.. . I then pressed these and the other triangles with Best Press to stiffen them as it is bias that

Judith is a woman not included in most Bibles - but was in the Greek Septuagint(the Old Testament used by the Apostles) and in the Latin Vulgate. Jerome who translated them for the Vulgate said that they were " as having decided they should be read ‘for example of life and instruction of manners’ and should not be used ‘to establish

Jen - your babies look wonderful. I am in the beginning learning curve to long arm quilting also. Something I found about loading my backing and my tops that might help you - with my backing I load it up and then draw it all the way on the take up reel - then I let it all loose and start winding it on the roller it starts on - slowly - straightening

Patricia - it seems to be my life - but actually my life is pretty good - i think of all those women in other countries and count myself very lucky. I know what you mean about wanting to work on blocks - if you want to work on something before you leave and not the blocks you have prepped - cut yourself one to work on now...:) I am thinking of becoming

Patricia - Your DH needs to learn the definition of "busy" - the DJ quilt is anything but busy to me and yours is beautiful. I love how yours is coming together and you are doing wonderful - do not change a thing. My E and F row are waiting for me to sew them together - and I just cut the fabric for the first 3 of the 6 G row blocks I still

Hi, Does anyone have any thoughts about the blocks we are making for the Women of the Bible quilt - do these women inspire you in any way... do you feel a kinship with them for the trials they have gone through. Both Barbara and I bought the pattern for the quilt that Jacy shared with us and I hope to be able to start doing it shortly. I have so many

  • Women of the Bible - week 12 - Judith

This is going to be an interesting block - you are going to have to sew on the bias.... when sewing a bias cut piece of fabric - I recommend spraying with a light starch or Best Press before cutting the piece - then it will be a little bit stiffer and won't have the tendency to stretch. If you don't have starch or best press be very gentle
