My name is Trudy and I am a weekend warrior quilter. When I was 12 I was taught to crochet by a friend of the family and have been making gifts and expanding my craft resume for 32 years. I began teaching myself to quilt about 12 years ago but I was not very good at it. I made the tops just fine but had no idea how to finsh them so I learned the "bag out" method. As my tops improved, I was desperate to learn to quilt them properly. I made all the usual mistakes like choosing the wrong batting and seeing my quilt bunch up like mini mountains. I set out to teach myself and purchased a quilting machine. It took me about a year to get brave enough to try to stipple and I have been in love with it since. I have still never had a lesson, aside from what I can learn from a magazine or book, but have made my family (a very large one at that) extremely happy.
In my other free time, I run marathons...if you can call what I do running. It is more like a slow jog but hey, I finish and get my medal and that is all I really want. :O)
