Carolyn Morris's Bio

My husband and I retired in 1999 and traveled in our motorhome.  Landed in AZ in 2005 for the winters and return every year.  Having made a few quilts prior to retiring, I took it up again but started with small 15" squares that I made as prayer cloths to share with those requesting prayers.  I then made bigger ones for family.  As my skills grew, I took on more designing and techniques.  For me a pattern is a guideline that gives me ideas of different ways to do it.  Color selection is fun and my grandkids forced me to try colors I never would have used on my own.  Now I love some of those colors!!!   Am now trying some art quilts, some thread painting on photographs.  During the summers when it is too hot in AZ we go see our adult kids and grandkids in TX, CO and WA state.
