I am on the right in my picture with my sister. I started quilting while I was still working around the mid-80's. I used to sew for all my girls and had lots of leftovers. So I made quilts for the granddaughters from matrial I had made their dresses. When I started quilting it was hard to find cottons, polyester was the norm. I have made quilts for all the family plus all babies that came along, including the grils I worked with. When we moved to Arizona I was a charter member of a guild and made numerous charity quilts. Now I have had to slow down due to numerous health issues. My projects are now small. I donated the majority of my fabrics to a group that makes charity quilts and about 50 books to the library.
