Sewing has always been a part of my life going back as far as I can remember. After being transferred to the Seattle area in 2000, and not knowing anyone, I decided to start quilting as a way to meet people and further my interest in learning the ins and outs of the craft. In 2004, after losing my son in a tragic accident, quilting literally became my therapy. It transported me to a place where the pain was tolerable and I could almost function normally at least on the outside. Those first couple of months are now just a very sad memory, but my love for quilting has continued to grow over the last 7 years and has become the vehicle in which I find comfort and peace. Seeing the smile on a friend's or loved ones face when they receive a homemade quilted gift is by far the best part of being a quliter!
