After garment making for many years, I started quilting in 1988 when I was intensively involved as a caregiver. It saved my sanity. Was it a phase or a passion? Time has told it is a passion. Now, I have an embarrassingly large stash to raid any time of the day or night and room to spread it out. I used to make wearable art, combining quilting and garment making, but not so often now. Within the last month, I completed my first double wedding ring quilt and was surprised how easy it was to accomplish. I've also dug out several UFO and they are in the process of completion. I've come to realize UFO's come about for many reasons, one being that we do not have the skills needed to complete them at the time. I have been involved with teaching children to sew (for short periods of time) for several years, have made one Quilt of Valor, have several quilts in process to send to Japan, and have made several Quiltmaker Project Linus quilts (also sewing with children).
