Dawn Compton's Bio

I made my first quilt when I was 10-years old. The year was 1970. No one instructed me on how it was supposed to be done so I made it up as I went along. As the years passed my technical skills improved but I was still self taught. When I saw a quilt that inspired me in some way, I took that inspiration and turned it into something all mine. If it was a technique I wasn't familiar with I found books to explain the basics. Once I master the technique I move on to something else. My next project is to create a king sized crazy quilt with each square being a separate work of art depicting special times in my life. It will most likely take me 10-years to finish.
