This was done on a foundation pattern from the book Crazy Quilting in a Weekend by Flora Roberts.  I sewed the pieces on to the foundation rather randomly, using scraps and remnants I had bought just for this purpose.  It was a gift for my sister's 70th birthday, in 2014.  Some of the fabric came from our deceased mom's red corduroy slacks, and some from scraps from my daughter's dresses and skirts.

I really liked using my machine to embroider the borders of most of the pieces, and used ribbons, lace, and buttons to embellish them.

It was lined with a black silky lining, but it wasn't quilted.  Since all the pieces were sewn on to a foundation, it was already thick enough.
