I made this wall hanging for my son and his wife who love autumn in the WA Cascade Mountains.  The larch trees turn a golden color and are a very spindly tree.  The salmon are spawning.  She picked out the pattern for the salmon and I took it from there.  I used the "Simply Stunning Woven Quilts" technique for the background incorporating the colors of water, mountains, forest and sunlight streaming in through the trees.  All very contemporary to match the stylized salmon.  The sunset sky in the upper corner just added to the overall theme.  Embellishments for the rocks and shrubs along the river banks helped define the image.  The trees were yarn that resembled the larch trees.  I won an honorable mention in the 2013 Arizona Quilters Guild Show in Mesa AZ.

I really, really like this.  The Cascades, salmon, etc.  Beautiful design.

I love the way you stylized the design. It is very unique.
