Photo Album Quilt for Nanny
My nanny is my inspriation and the only reason I sew. She got me started early with and embroidery, and taught me to sew at a very young age. The most precious memories I have are us sewing together...her working on large projects and me doing something small by hand. When I was 21, she gave me my very first sewing machine, and unleashed the monster lol. This is the very first quilt I designed, and made start to finish all on my own. I machine quilted it on my domestic Husqvarna Viking Eden Rose 250c, did hand binding, and used printer cloth for the photos. They are all of her grandchildren and their children/spouses. She uses it as a lap quilt when sitting in her chair watching jeapardy and wheel of fortune =). This was made using a log cabin technique, and a jelly roll. (the red looks more vibrant than it actually is, it blended beautifully but the picture makes it stand out).
