The pattern for this quilt is by QP Designs. The designer if Colette Belt. It is 64" X 64".
Petals, Tulips & greenery are made of assorted batiks. The background is assorted muted white designs.
Special machine stitches (little flowers) were used with variegated thread to quilt around the edges of the Dresden petals.
The tulips & greenery were needle turned applique & secured with blanket stitches.
Quilting included windowing around the tulips. Using an embroidery program called "Tumbling Tulips" from Amazing Designs, as a quilting pattern, a circular tulip design was used for the center of the quilt. The White borders were quilted by alternating a small tulip on point and straight lines to mimic chevrons on each side of the tulips.
The back of the quilt is a teal blue/green flower pattern (one of the fabrics used in the Dresden petals). The Tulip machine embroidery was done with white thread on top (to match the white background) and white in the bobbin to provide a nice contrast on the back. Except for the Tulips & Dresden Petals, all other quilting was done with white thread on top & blue/green thread on the bottom.
