Each block of the lap quilt has a different 'textured' center...prairie points, ruffles, gathering, star smocking, diamond smocking, pintucking, etc. The inserted strip in the borders are also textured. This lap quilt will be donated to a vision-impaired person with alzhemiers disease. She is able to see a little, so I used bright contrasting colors. The different textures in the center of the blocks will give her something to feel with her fingers. The quilting is dense, and different for each block, to add to the textures of the quilt top. Finished size 43 X 55, all Kona Cottons in variety of colors. Used the QAYG method to quilt the top. Original patterns and designs can be found under 'Textured Quilt Sampler Tutorial' on the facebook page for 'TeresaDownUnder'.
