This quilt was a mystery I designed and blogged about last year for my Michigan Quilt Network group. I only used fabric in my stash to make the quilt, but had to purchase fabric for the backing and outside border. The block pattern is from Carrie Hall Blocks by Bettina Havig. I used the color layout seen painted on the side of the Lytton Library in Iowa, seen in  Painted Barns Quilts. The quilt was donated for an MS fundraising event and raffled and brought in $190.

That's lovely.  I love the vivid (almost Amish) colors.  One of the best mystery quilts I've seen!

Thanks, Jeanne. I'm sure that the black adds to that effect, although I didn't plan it. I picked out jewel tone fabrics from my stash. White for the setting triangles just didn't work, so I used the black, which made them radiate more. None of the other fabrics are solids, but they do read like solids from a distance, giving an Amish look.
