Strip quilt, machine embroidery
This lap sized quilt was made with the 'strip-quilt race' technique (you can find the video on you tube). It's made from a 40 piece roll of strips. This is the fastest technique I've ever seen for piecing a quilt. You can make the top in about 2 hours. Anyway, this quilt was commissioned, and the client wanted quotes embroidered on it, so I used my embroidery machine to do that. I used a larger piece of similar fabric for the border and back, and added a dark brown, 1" inner border for accent. The quilting was simple, verticle lines throughout the quilt top and stitch-in-the-ditch around the borders. The quote says: "Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later."
