My step daughter has a style all her own. She is a beautiful mom of two, has taken on a third, works hard everyday, is smart, and knows how to squeeze a dollar....can you tell I like her a little? I made this quilt for her, taking her theme of old world crosses, as a place to start. I used the block Greek Cross, again from Judy Hopkins book, and tweeked it a bit to come up with this one. Now, I decided, halfway thru the cutting/piecing steps that I wanted to make it bigger than the wall hanging I had in mind. Sooo, I tried getting more fabric and COULDNT...yikes. I purchased fabric that I thought would meld with what I had already and was able to put together an overall pattern in the center that came out ok. I backed it with flannel being as how she lives at the coast and there is a need for snuggly covers darn near all year round.
Haven't given it to her yet, but Im pretty sure she doesn't visit this site....now, should I wait til her birthday?
