This is the first quilt I made after my mother died in 2001. I think I was making it for my inner child as I don't have any children and didn't have anyone else's child in mind.. I loved picking out the fabrics for each star. A professional long arm quilter did the quilting. This year I gave the quilt to the daughter of a friend for her daughter whom she adopted from China. My mother was like a grandmother to the adopting mother, so I felt the quilt would be especially meaningful to her as I had dedicated the quilt to my mother and included a picture of Mom as a 3 year old on the label on the back.
