Beautiful accomplishment! How do you sew the seams on the curve do you gather them first? On my todo list.
I did paper piecing for the colored half moon rings with my machine and then I attached them to the center light color with hand stitching because I don't have good enough control on a machine (not a practiced sewer) to do the curves. Although, I found towards the end that spray starch is your friend when doing this.
