A gift for my 21 year old Grand-daughter, so it had to have a little more modern flare. The fresh swirl pattern in the border print and the rust binding seemed to add that touch. The front of the quilt is shown in this view.
I gave the back of this scrappy quilt a decidedly modern feel for the 21 year old (grand-daughter) recipient. The border print with the swirls was the focal fabric leading to the choices for the avocado green and rust for the back. All quilting on this quilt was simple stitch in the ditch...nothing fancy. Plus, I applied the binding by machine using a decorative chicken tracks stitch.
