William (my great nephew aged 10) has missed out on bags, quillows etc. made for his older brother and cousins. I asked him what he would like, and he requested a quilt with a 'creeper' on it. Being unfamiliar with today's computer games, I had to ask "what is that?". It comes from a game called "Minecraft" and is a creature to be avoided.

The blocks surrounding the creeper represent the protective clothing, tools, foods and magic potions you have to find / make in the game. They are a mixture of machine embroidery and applique.

The diamond blocks represent types of minerals you have to mine in the game to progress. This was not my first color scheme - William and Jack liked the orange left over from another quilt so I had to buy some more.

The quilt was designed using EQ7 and most of the blocks, squares, strips etc were cut using an Acuquilt Go. i have added a sleeve on the back so it can be hung.

Due to ongoing health problems, I outsourced the quilting to a local store - Quilt-Essentials in New Lambton New South Wales.

What a thoughtful gift. It is great that you took the time to learn his interests and make him a personalized gift. He's lucky to have such a GREAT Auntie!
