What do you do when you find yourself with a rainbow of scraps?  Make a rainbow quilt, of course!  This was a controlled paper bag pieced quilt.  Each block had no repeats of fabrics, but the order that the block went into the design depended on which order it got pulled from the paper bag.  So, each block got sorted by color, then thrown into the bag and pulled out one piece at a time.

Love it!  Is this your own design?

Nancy,  One of the quilt mags had something like this in 2010, but it was done in a very muted color pallet.  I have subsequently suffered a leaking roof over my sewing area, and I think this is one of the mags that got thrown out due to damage.  Most of it is 1/2 square triangles and 4 patches.  The center stars were made first, then the other pieces were added as sashings.

Beautiful quilt!  What size finished blocks are they and what size is your finished quilt?

The pattern was not lost....only misplaced.  I hate it when I put things in a "safe" place and then forget where that might be!  Fons and Porter, Love of Quilting, July/August 2010 edition .  The quilt they did was called "scrap happy"  I eliminated the extra sashings between the blocks and used Marti Michel templates (Set L was all I owned at that time) to cut the triangle pieces.  I stuck with mostly jewel tones, where their version was all over the color range.
