This quilt was made from a pattern which is called "French Roses". You make a template of the applique pieces and cut them out and raw edge applique them to the background piece leaving 1/4" or so free to ravel. If I was to do this again I would employ the quilt as you go or cotton theory methods as this pattern is perfect for these methods....quilting as you applique the pieces down!
