Queen quilt, a hand applique & hand quilted labor of love
This queen size quilt is finally finished. It was put on the back burner for other quilts to be made. It is my own design & has 9 Celtic knots that were derived from the Book of Kells. I used turning bars to make the bias strips & tiny sequin pins to hold it on the squares until they were hem stitched on. The center knot squares are hand quilted in an echo pattern at 1/4" intervals. The borders, bars and squares have hand quilted Celtic knots, and the small pink corner squares have spirals. It has taken a long time, but this one lies proudly on our bed in our newly renovated bedroom at last.
