Some that saw this said it looked like Aluminium Foil, so that is as good a name as any.
I was inspired to create this from things shared from: Film In The Fridge! Love her work. http://www.filminthefridge.com/
But the real inspiration was this was my first 'pieced on paper" quilt since my first one - at age 8. I made that one with my grandmother. It was 20 years before I made my second quilt. I don't think she would like this quilt design very much, but she was very much with me in spirit as I made it. I do think she would like that I did what I wanted to, based on her instruction. So many memories came back to that summer in about 1972...
I learned much about shading, shadows, and strip size. I really hate how my idea to use different sized strings made a mess of some of my points. And my goodness, did I learn I need to do better at setting that first seam on the strip.
It was very much fun cutting up my phone book for the backing paper - I found I could cut an 8 inch width, so I made 8 inch squares from my old phone book.
