This raw edge applique with embroidery fish is entitled "Follow Me" and is from a pattern by Carol Morrissey 2007. It was completed just in time for Florida's Sea Turtle nesting.
So beautiful. What a natural organic flow. Is that batik fabric in the turtle shell?
Wow.....what an impressive job! It is beautiful!
GREAT job. It's beautiful
Absolutely stunning!! Your fabric choices are wonderful, so realistic. What a gorgeous job you did. You must be just beaming.
Thank you!!! Yes, the turtle shell (and most of the quilt fabrics) are batik. Actually, I put off making this quilt because it took forever to find the exact fabric I wanted for the shell. My husband (who my biggest fan) just raves over it every time he passes it hanging on the wall.
This is really beautiful, Pamela. What a great job you did! No wonder your husband raves over it.
That is so gorgeous, the turtles look like they could swim forever! Did you free motion quilt this on your sewing machine or take it to a long arm machine quilter? It is truly a beautiful work of art!
Wow - those turtles are awesome!!!!!
This is gorgeous!
The turtles are so alive! Beautiful job!
I've come back to this page 3 times just to look. Very impressive.
Very peaceful quilt. I love turtles. I can see why your husband loves it. Someday maybe I'll be able to tackle something like that! It's very inspiring. Thanks for sharing it Pamela!
To answer lilredske1, most of the quilting was done on my Juki because my Designer SE refused to behave.
Thank you everyone for the lovely comments!
