this is a queen size, strip pieced quilt in ultra-suede.  I don't remember where I got the inspiration for this block, but it's sort of a cross between a Log Cabin and an Attic Windows.  It starts as a small square, then you add strips around it to make a larger square, then you add darker strips to two sides, then assemble the blocks with a contrasting sashing.  That way you get the effect fo the Attic Windows without the Y-seam on each block.  I used ultra-suede because I wanted that soft, inviting feel to the finished quilt.  But I didn't realize what a project it would turn into.  The ultra-suede is VERY stretchy, so it's almost like working with material that is cut on the bias.

I would never have thought of making a quilt with ultra suede, but it is very rich looking. you did a beautiful job on this.

I would not take the challenge you did with the suede. but, it is more than beautiful, and I can imagine the feel of it. Lovely, you are so good!

Brave fellow - making a quilt out of ultra suede.  I had enough trouble when I got the brilliant idea to back one with minky.

The ultra-suede does give it a very rich look.  Well done!
