I finally completed the Mark Twain quilt for my husband. I just finished the quilting and binding today. He's thrilled and doesn't care that the machine quilting is a grab bag of various stitches. I had fun free motion quilting the sayings on the inside beige borders. I don't know if you can enlarge the photo enough to see it. Across the top I wrote Samuel Clemens 1835-1910. On the bottom I stitched in Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Along the sides I stitched in George's favorite sayings, "Heaven goes by favor, if it went by merit you would stay out and your dog would go in" and on the other side " Mark Twain: Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please".

I haven't done the label yet. I have to give that some thought. I used up the scraps to piece the back.

Judy, I love the quilt! Great quilting job too. If your husband doesn't like it, I can find a place in my home for it.

What a labour of love and really creative to mix all those elements together. Rather like writing a novel? I love the word quilting. Your quilt has inspired me.
