This quilt was a Block of the Month from The Gallery in Mercer, PA. It required completing 4 blocks a month. I got behind about half way through and ended up completing six months of blocks in two weeks! I was just a tad bit tired of looking at Santa!!! The quilt is huge, 96x108. Most of the applique was machine completed using the stitch that looks most like the blanket stitch on my machine. I did use some decorative stitching for beards and fur trims and some fancier straight stitching for details. After I quilt it (almost done), I will embelish the top with buttons, ribbons and other bling. It has been quite fun to make, but I am very glad it is almost done!! I plan on hanging it in a spare bedroom and may use it on the bed at Christmas, or it may hang on the wall year round!!
