Stars for Friends

This is a variation of the layout for Bonnie Hunters Orca Bay MQ. I split the blocks into two quilts because my fabrics were so busy the design got lost. This is the first one I completed, with the help of EQ7. It just needs to be quilted and will have a black binding. I would NEVER have tackled something so intensive if I hadn't committed myself to her MQ project. I love it and am so impressed with Bonnie's design and great weekly instructions. The second quilt from her blocks will have the lighter star blocks and utilize the blue string blocks. I'll post that when it's done.

I love it, Judy!  Did you have to make a bunch more of those black/white triangle units for the second quilt?  I am so not fond of making those blocks, although Bonnie made it a little less "painful" with the way she snuck those in on us.  LOL  Great job!

Looking at the design closer, you could call it "Which Way to Orca Bay".....the way the Ohio Stars mesh with those black/white triangle units, makes a secondary black double pointed arrow design in between the Ohio Stars.  I could look at/admire this quilt all day. :)  Thanks for the eye candy. :)
