I fell in love with the bright colors of the pattern and the 3D effect that the completed blocks had. This actually started out as a Christmas Gift for my brother and sister in law, but fell in love with the quilt and decided to keep it and made them a different one for Christmas. I did change the applique flowers from their random basic flowers to Roses. I found a picture of a rose that I really liked and created my own template for both size roses I used for the quilt. I seriously had to use tweezers to get the pieces to line up the way I wanted them before ironing them into place. The quilter did an amazing job with the quilt as well. She used a varigated thread on the colored parts and blank on the black so as not to take away from the design. There are roses quilted throughout the quilt in black to continue the Rose theme. The backing is a very cool Rose backing as well. I'm going to post a few pictures so that you can see the detail. This is why I ended up keeping the quilt. I hope you like it as much as I do.
The Pattern is called Rainbow Garden by Rabbit Factory. Here's the link to the pattern: http://www.quiltingbookspatternsandnotions.com/search.php. This was a great way to use up some stash and a fantastic project for those that like to use the Go. All the triangles were cut using the go vs. doing the squares and then measuring and cutting them in half.
