Year's ago my MiL's friend blessed her with this quilt. This Christmas she passed the treasure on to me. I am very honored!

Lola was a Uchi/Cherokee indian born in Oklahoma. She recordered her heritage in the quilts she made. This one was completed sometime in the 90's, just a few years before she passed away. It's both hand and machine appliqued and hand quilted. She stitched all of the fringe and braids as well.

Oh I love this quilt, I have never seen this pattern. Is this your own? Love the embellishments too!

OMG! How fortunate you are to have your friend's legacy passed to you!! This is a beautiful quilt. So much detail. It is one of the best ways to pass on one's heritage. I'm sure you must cherish the quilt.
