This was made for my brown eyed grandson. He ordered a brown and black quilt and this is what I came up with. The pattern is called railroad crossings because the sashing in this quilt is made from various width strips (7/8 to 1 1/4 inch) that represent railroad ties. The name comes from the buffalo in the center and the tiny buffalos on one of the print blocks. I let him pick from my stash for the blocks. The corner stones have a wolf quilted in them, the blocks have a buffalo quilted in them and the rest is stippled. Had I found the fabric on the back before the top was complete, it would have been a totally different quilt. As it turned out, brown eyes loves it. He says no matter how he makes his bed, the quilt is always right side up.
